Welcome to Sun Days at the Ship – a vibrant series of Sunday events taking place at the Ship Inn Community Space in Stonehouse. Nestled beside the canal just before Upper Mills Bridge (opposite Wycliffe School), this beautiful green space is the perfect setting for relaxed, family-friendly afternoons filled with creativity, connection, and community spirit.
Why We’re Doing This
These events are more than just great days out – they’re part of a bigger vision. We want to:
- Bring people down to the site to experience its potential
- Hear your ideas about how this space could be used in the future
- Demonstrate community support to strengthen future funding applications

Site logistics:
The Ship Inn Community Space is what you would probably call a ‘blank canvas’! We have some portaloos and picnic tables and grass! We are creating a fully accessible jetty to facilitate boats, canoes, paddleboards etc. We have started to construct a boardwalk to enable everyone access to our community space.
There is no parking at the site so all guests will need to arrive either on foot or by bike. Don’t worry though, it’s a lovely journey there along the Stroudwater Canal or a short hop (0.4m) from Stonehouse Town Centre.
